Song:Green and Grey

*Capo 2*

Intro:G, Bm, F, A, G, Bm, F, G

(Verse 1)
         G
I'm in a room full of people,
                        Bm
Hanging on one person's breath.
F
We would all vote him most
                      A
likely to be loved to death.
  G
I hope he still wants it, but
                       Bm
It might remind him of when
   F
He aimed for the bulls eye and
                         G
Hit it nine times out of ten.
G
That one time his hand slipped, and
                    Bm
I saw the dart sail away.
        F
I don't know where it landed, but I'm
                           A
Guessing between green and gray.
     G
Well I thought nothing of it, but
                           Bm
It still haunts him like a ghost.
     F
With all eyes upon him,
                           G
Except two that matter the most.

(Chorus 1)
 G A C Em C D
"Green is the color that everyone sees all around me,
G A C Em D G
Gray is the color I see around her, and she's just a blur."
    C G D G
The more the crowd cheers, the less I can hear
         Em B
But they don't really care what I play.
   C
It might be for her, but for
D C
Now it's between green and gray.

(Repeat intro)

(Verse 2)

We paid and we cheered, now we're
Gone and to us that feels right.
But for him every one of those
Evenings turns into a night.
With another hotel room where
He lays awake to pretend
That he's doing fine with his
Notebook and discman for friends. He says...

(Chorus 2)
Green is the color that every one sees all aroung me,
Grey is the color I see around her, shes just a blur.
Night after night when I hear what I write
Fills the room and my head starts to sway
It might be for her but for
Now its between green and grey.

(Verse 3)
I want you to love me, he
Whispers, unable to speak. And he wonders
Aloud why feelings so
Strong make the body so weak.
Then he awoke. Now he's
Scared to death somebody heard.
If it was you, and you
Know her, please don't say a word.

Here are the chords WITH the capo on

Bm 224432

F 133211

A 002220

C 332010

Em 022000

B 224442

These are the full chords you can mute some strings if
you want. I tried to line up some of the words to the first down beat of
the measures. It's easy to memorize chords to the verses if you think of
it as just walking down the neck with bar chords. Tell me
how i did. Thanks.

Sorry but this is pretty innacurate

Thanks for taking the time to try and make it
easier for some of the less advanced fans. I
don't think it sounds bad at all. Don't pay
attention to those other people!
Everyone is a critic!

IF YOU FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT THEN SAY SOMETHING! dont just say "this is way off" like a moron!
-bowlingdude2000 | 3/16/2004
This tab is fine!!! I totally agree with
bowlingdude, don't just sit there and make
stupid comments like, "This is the stupidest
thing I've ever seen." Do the words
"constructive criticism" mean anything to you?

Thank you sabragirl

I find this a great sounding solo acoustic tab
that wonderfully reflects this tune.
Some others may tend to forget the beauty in simplicity, but I find this version by far the most useful.

everything sounds great but durring the verses it sounds a little better if you play Am. but that is just my oppinion. good job!
