Song: TOMORROW IS A LONG TIME
Artist: Nickel Creek
Album: Why Should The Fire Die?
Originally Written By: Bob Dylan
Capo 3
G C G
If today was not an endless highway
G C G
If tonight was not a crooked trail
C D G
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time
C D G
Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all
C D G
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin'
C D G
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin'
C D G
Only if she was lyin' by me
C D G
Then I'd lie in my bed once again.
I can't see my reflection in the water
I can't speak the sounds that show no pain
I can't hear the echo of my footsteps
Or can't remember the sound of my own name
There's beauty in the silver, singing river
There's beauty in the sunrise in the sky
But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love's eyes

Dont mean to be picky, great tab but it would help if the lyrics were changed, I know thats the way Bob wrote it, but there are several changes with the way NC does it. :) -p8nter21 | 9/6/2005 | Try a capo on the first, G=A, C=D/F#, D=E. I think this position better matches his picking pattern in the song. We saw them play at Borders in San Diego last month, standing less than ten feet in front of them, awesome show! They didn't play this song though. Maybe someone else saw them play this song and noticed where Sean put the capo? -sanmagoo | 9/24/2005 | Yup, I saw NC play this song in London in September and Sean plays it in the key of A with a capo on the first fret :-) -SilverLiner | 11/21/2005 |
