That Train Left Me Behind Again
 	  	 written 2005

INTRO: D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A
       D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A D

D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G D
Under the harvest moon 'neath a cloudless sky
               Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A
With all of my hopes and dreams hangin' on a sound in the night
     F#m G F#m A
As I listen to the whistle cryin', callin' to me on the wind
D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A D
I know that train has left me behind again

D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A D

There's no escape, from this prison with no bars
Shackled by memories, with our dreams for guards
And a lonesome whistle, let's us know we have a friend
But still that train has left me behind again

BRIDGE:
E A G D
And so I stand here, and cry out for a ride
Bm G C A7
But the train keeps rollin' on, so I tell my dreams goodbye
F#m G F#m A
And so I pray, one day I'll leave this place
D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A D
And a lonely tear trickles down my face

INTRO

I turn around, head back inside
Crawl under the covers and listen, as the wail drifts into the night
In the mornin' it'll start all over, I'll pray and dream and then
As the sun sets that train will leave me behind again

BRIDGE 2:
E A G D
Someday I'll run after it, cryin' for my life
         Bm G C A7
And I'll jump on board and I won't look back, and I'll tell this hell goodbye
     F#m G F#m A
But until that moment comes, until I can run just like the wind
D Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A D
I know that train will always leave me behind again
    Dsus2 Bm Bm7 G A D
Yes that train left me behind again

I like that man......seems like it's my life.
I would like to hear it.

Thanks. And, considering this song is kinda depressing, you have my sympathies! I'll hopefully be submitting some mp3s in the next couple weeks or so...I love playing this one, so it'll probably be on my list.

I can relate this to part of my life, also.
The chords are nice. I love the chord
progression. I like playing the Key of D,
because a lot of songs in D have good chord
changes that sound nice. The only trouble
is for me, is that I can't sing a lot of
songs in D. Most of them have high notes
that I can't reach, 'cause my voice is deep.
So I play them in different keys. Usually in
A.
It's a nice song.

Thanks. And yeah, I like the key of D as well...and can't sing it! But it sounds good, so I go ahead and write them. I really can't sing any key very well, so in the end it doesn't matter what key use when writing the song.
