if you want you can just play a regular "C"
Chord instead of "Cadd9" when your not
playing with the recording. sounds good to me try it and let me know what you think.

-tayclear | 1/10/2005
While a regular C does work just fine (C and Cadd9 are both obviously still based on the "C" chord), to play the song exactly how it's recorded, it's important to use the Cadd9 where notated. Both definitely can work though, if you're just used to playing a full C. However, note that in the steel guitar solo there is a regular C as opposed to Cadd9 - that's the reason it's written the way it is, because at that particular point of the song, Pat uses a full "C" instead of the Cadd9, so there's a difference in the sound. The difference between a Cadd9 and a C is subtle, but I just figured for accuracy's sake I'd notate it as close to perfect as I'm capable of getting it.
