G
Got myself a threadbare gypsy soul
Cadd9 G
Like to dance and drink and go wherever the wind blows
Em D
Gotta a little threadbare gypsy soul
Cadd9 D G
Gotta little threadbare gypsy soul

(repeat chords of verse #1)

Gotta little wild streak in my heart
I guess that I have had it since I heard the music start
I gotta little wild streak in my heart
I gotta little threadbare gypsy soul

CHORUS
Em D
I like to hear the highway sounds
Cadd9 D
And I don't think that I'll ever settle down
C D
I can't change and it's a sin
G G/F# Em
Hope St. Peter's gonna let me in
C D G
Come on Pete won't you let me in

(same chords as verse #1)

I wear this cowboy hat up on my head
And you can take it off me some time after I am dead
Gotta cowboy hat up on my head
Gotta little threadbare gypsy soul

(same chords as verse #1)

I wear these crusty shoes down on my feet
I could write a book about the places that they've seen
I gotta these crusty shoes down on my feet
I got a little wild streak in my heart

REPEAT CHORUS

Lead: play chords of chorus

(same chords as verse #1)

I know this crazy living just ain't right
Most of the time I'm smoking, drinking, looking for a fight
But I've been talking to Jesus every day
And I've been talking to Jesus every day

(same chords as verse #1)

And I got this girl back home I call my wife
If you ever meet her, I swear she would change your life
She's gotta little wild streak in her heart
But she’s been saying hallelujah every day

the last chord of the verse is G not D
-kahlua | 10/13/2002
the walk down in the chorus from G to Em should in between be a
G/F#. so it should be G G/F# Em
-Baumann | 2/7/2003
try playing the last chords of verse#1 from cadd9 to D and then end
on the G
