i think its perfect -dougsim | 4/19/2003 |
it's actually in the chorus where it is wrong. you go from E to A(add9, when it should go E to C#5. so basically your whole chorus is outta wack. -btexan03 | 4/28/2003 |
I know what you mean by that and thats how I first did it but then I went back and changed that and it sounds right to me how I have it. Just listen and try to pick out that part and just play what suits you because the way I have it suits me. -rt@countrytabs | 4/29/2003 |
I'm sure this version is 100% correct, I noticed on the other versions people seem to be thinking the chorus goes from E to C#5 but it is definitely going from E to A(add9) on the recording. The way rt has the chorus is perfect, and everything is in the right place.
Great job! -Shantel | 5/8/2003 |
Thanks Shantel. -rt@countrytabs | 5/8/2003 |
I just played through this with the recording and it sounds right. Good job -kickingshoe | 7/30/2003 |
On Pat's website, they have it as E to C#5 with no F#m or G#m in it...just a comment -kyletruly | 8/29/2003 |
Yeah, there's no F# or G# anywhere in the song. -Smoothie7745 | 2/5/2004 |
I don't know who posted that tab on Pat Green's site, but the chords aren't right, they misnamed one, and there is even a mistake in the lyrics. But what you have sounds great! However, you have misnamed your chords. THE FINGERING YOU HAVE IS RIGHT, but here are the correct names of those chords. The A(add9) should be called Asus2, B5 should be called Bsus4, and C#5 should be called C#min7th. Just for those beginers trying to learn new chords! -wayne77 | 2/19/2004 |
It's not "why do I have to be such a stupid man", it should be "why on earth I have to be such a stupid man," at least that's how it is on my CD. -bbeadel | 7/7/2004 |
it should be asus2 b5 c#5 "wake up, wake up, wake up"
and then back to the b5 into the chours same on the end of the next verse

i dont think ther is an F#m in the whole song.the one listed that says (the way pat plays it) ,goes along with the album if you play along.but somtimes my ears decieve me russ -russell galyean | 1/15/2005 |
I'm sorry to be negative, but there's just not an F# or F#m anywhere, once, in the song. There were other things, too, but that's the biggest thing. At least, there's not on the version from his album, Three Days...if you have a recording played differently, in all seriousness, I'd love to hear it. But as far as the album Three Days, there's no F#m. -Smoothie7745 | 3/8/2005 |
Finally! - somebody got the bridge correct! - this looks totally correct to me -meewally | 6/8/2005 |
There is a F#m in this song. It's in the chorus. The reason it might not sound right to some is because it is played with the two high strings open: 244200. just like every other chord in this song. The E is played with the two high strings open 022100, as well as the A x02200, as well as the B x24400, and the C#m x46600. That kind of A is called an Asus2, the B is called a Bsus4 and the C#m is called a C#m7. The E is just called an E. Oh ya, and that F#m is called a F#m7add11 -BrianEarlHaines | 4/13/2009 |
It's almost correct.. one minor problem
at the end of each verse, using your chord names, it should be A(add9) - B5 - A(add9) - B5 to end the verse.
I think every thing else is prefect. But I am 100 percent positive that during the "hold me, hold me" part he goes back to the A and not to the C#m on the last part of each verse -Hanselman03 | 8/13/2013 |
