Capo 3 (Key of F)
D G D G
Well I've heard those city singers singin 'bout how they can love
D G D G
Deeper than the oceans, higher than the stars above
D G D G
Well I come from the country and I know I ain't seen it all
D G D A D
But I heard that oceans salty and the stars they sometimes fall
Em Bm
But that would not do justice to the way I feel for you
G G/F# Em A
So I had to sing a song about all the things I knew
Chorus:
D G D G
My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Bm G Em A
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
D G D D/C# Bm
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
Em G/F# G
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
Em A D
And longer than the song of the whippoorwill
From the back roads to the Broadway shows with a million miles between
There's a least a million love songs that people love to sing
And everyone is different and everyone's the same
So this is just another way of sayin' the same thing
Chorus
Fiddle break
Chorus

Very Very nice. Well done -jared23 | 4/4/2005 | Real Good job on an awesome love song. -lbacker5 | 2/18/2009 | The G/F# and D/C# bother me a little. There is something about those chords that just irritates me. Not in this song, but in general. I don't like the sound of those chords. Maybe I'm not playing them right, but I skip over them in this song. Other than that, great job. -tpmadden | 6/17/2009 | I'm with tpmadden. I just play the chord listed first in place of those so G and D is what I play in their place when I play and sing this song.
-GuitarKid15 | 7/10/2014 | Those are transition chords - they walk you "up" or "down" to the next chord. You can hear it in the song as you follow the bass and, if you play alone, it adds character to the song. Alot of my tabs have them. It's definitely not mandatory... -lmofle | 7/11/2014 |
