Title: Bless the broken Road
CD: Feels like today
chords by: palamin0 at countrytabs.com

Intro - C - Fmaj7 - G - Am7 - F - G - C - (G)
        C - Fmaj7 - G - Am7 - F - G - C

(verse 1)
C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C
I set out on a narrow way, many years ago,
C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C
Hoping I would find true love, along the broken road,
   Am7 G
But I got lost a time or two,
F C Dm G
wipe my brow and kept pushing through,
C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C
I couldn't see how every sign, pointed straight to you,

(chorus)
C F C G C
Every long lost dream, led me to where you are,
            F Am7 Dm C G
Others who broke my heart, they were like North-ern stars,
C F C G Am7
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms,
            Dm C F
This much I know is true,
     C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C - (play Intro)
That God bless the broken road that lead me straight to you,

(verse 2)
I think about the years I spent, just passin through,
I'd like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you,
But you just smile and take my hand,
You've been there you understand,
It's all part of a grander plan, that is commin true,

(chorus)
C F C G C
Every long lost dream, led me to where you are,
            F Am7 Dm C G
Others who broke my heart, they were like North-ern stars,
C F C G Am7
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms,
            Dm C F
This much I know is true,
     C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C
That God bless the broken road that lead me straight to you,

(lead - C - F - C - G - C - F - Am7 - Dm - C - G)

(Ending)
C F C G Am7
Now I'm just rollin home, into my lovers arms,
            Dm C F
This much I know is true,
     C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C -Fmaj7-G-Am7-F-G
That God bless the broken road that lead me straight to you,
     C Fmaj7 G Am7 F G C
That God bless the broken road, that lead me straight, to you,

Outro - C - Fmaj7 - G - Am7 - F - G - C - (G)
        C - Fmaj7 - G - Am7 - F - G - C

Ok I uploaded a soundbyte. Realize I am not a good keyboard
player so please excuse it and so this is a rough version both
instrumenatlly and vocally. I also detuned the keyboard a "half"
step (for my sake). So those of you wanting to hear the keyboard
parts here they are.. again sorry for the choppy playing and
vocal mistakes.....

tracks are: Electrc Grand piano and Hamond B3 Organ and I added some
            synth bass....

this is by far my favorite song of any
artist. Gary Levoux is AMAZING. His
voice just rings and hits me like nothing
has ever been able too. There is a reason he is the number one vocal talent for all
genres of music in the world 3 years running
May "God Bless the Broken Road..."

I couldn't agree more. Great song, but
the feeling just isn't there.

For those of you who are unaware, there
was a female artist that released this song
as her debut single, a few years back.
Melodie Crittenden (spelling?.

Hey sarge106,
It's not that the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band did something wrong in performing the song, it's just that Rascall Flatts is so NOT country that it appeals to a wider range of fan base. I'm not saying that they're completely un-country, but they aren't nearly as country as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Please feel free to keep your ignorance to yourself next time.

I love this song, but it's a little out of my vocal range, could one of you extremely talented musicians transpose this a key lower for me? I'm not sure about the Am7, would that be a F#m, and what would the Dm be?(B7)and while were at it, what would the Fm7 be???
-davidpitz | 2/18/2005
to put it simple, you rock and i love you!!! lol....some people asked so here's:

F#m xx321x
Dm xxo231

this is really good, i liked it!
-IYIike | 3/29/2005
i thought that this was a really good tab. keep up the good work.
p.s. try playing on the first verse, 4th line down (wipe my brow and kept pushing through.....) instead of F C Dm G, try playing F C G C, it may sound better, or at least on my guitar it does. other than that, keep up the good work!

-geeetar | 3/31/2005
Awsome Tab, , If you want to give it a different sound again, you can use an Am in the first line of the Chorus, That would make it C, F, C, G, Am. A rating 10 in my books.
-Cspirits | 5/8/2005
This is good but i think that the simpler versions work just as well and sound just as good.
-jbr1993 | 5/17/2005

-cookston | 7/15/2005
Overall, good job. The intro, though, should be C/E, Fsus2, G, Am, F, F/G, C/G, C (then repeat). Also, in the verse the chord Fmaj7 is really an Fsus2. Fantastic otherwise.

The best guitar chord site on the internet is here:

www.guitarnotes.com/guitar/notes2/ultimate11.shtml

or a pdf version that i think is a little more updated

www.guitarnotes.com/guitar/notes2/ultimate.pdf

there are so many chords on this site that there are 15 links. They aren't separated by letter, but it's average that each letter takes about 2 numbers of links (example, A chords are links 1 & 2, G is 13&14)

Hope this helps

I'm just learning how to play the guitar, and I really love this song, however my voie is too deep for the original cords...I read the Capo/Transposing lesson....didn't understand it. Does anyone know how I could use a capo to lower the tone a little to match my voice....and is there any way to use the capo to bring the chords to those that I'm more familiar with....G,A,D,E,F,etc.

-sbtek | 9/23/2005
The tab seems good. Nice sounding sound byte. But, if you made a sound byte of you playing this tab on a guitar that would be SWEET. It would sure help.
