Fast Cars and Freedom--Rascal Flatts

I love the imagery this song paints.

Despite what you might think by looking at my tabs, I have nothing against capos.
I just think that we need some good tunes to practice our barre chords on; this is
for those of you, like me, who want to rock out (country style) and practice your
chords in the process.

Thanks to palaminO for the great capo'd tab.

Intro: D#m C# D#m F# C#

            D#m C#
Staring at you, taking off your makeup
         D#m F# C#
Wonderin why you even put it on
                     D#m C#
I know you think you do, but baby you don't need it
                 D#m F# C#
I wish you could see what I see when it's gone

CHORUS:

             B F#
I see a dust trail followin an old red Nova
C# D#m F#
Baby blues eyes, your head on my shoulder
      C#
Wait, baby don't move, right there it is
  B F#
A t-shirt hangin off a dogwood branch
       C#
That river was cold but we gave love a chance
D#m F#
Yeah, yeah, for me
F#maj7
You don't look a day over fast cars and freedom
                                      Intro
That sunset river bank first time feelin

Yeah smile and shake your head, as if you don't believe me
I'll just sit right here and let you take me back
I'm on that gravel road (look at me), on my way to pick you up
You're standin on the front porch lookin just like that (oh just like that)

Can anyone tab the lead intro part and solo for this song?

I gotta agree with you twizzle. Too many people rely on capos. Its good to practice the barre chords.

Judging by the lead parts in this song i would have to say that Joe Don probably uses a capo or tunes his guitar up a half step but i've never seen him play this one. I've put the intro up and when i find out if yall think its right or not by leaving comments i will post the solo if my intro is right, SO LEAVE COMMENTS IN THE INTRO TAB!!!

Thanks for the uncapoed tab.I use these tabs for my band and this is great for the bass player. But our other guitar player always uses the capo, so it's great to have both.

i thought it was. that river was cold but we gave love a chance........ya ya TO ME. not for me but idk thats just what i hear

KU_isbestever; Joe Don doesn't use a capo on Fast Cars and Freedom, so he must tune up a half step. I've seen him do the song a couple times.

@KU: I think you have it backwards. I would bet JoeDon tunes his guitar down a half step and plays it in Em. That's what I'm a doin'.
