G5  = xx578x
D/G = xx577x

Intro - G
        (Rock chords will be G5 - D/G - G6(no 3)...THese ARE NOT full chords....
played during the intro and verses...also the (Cadd9) during the verses
are if you want to play this song acoustically to give it some flavor)

(verse 1)
G (Cadd9) G
They got three in the front and four in the back of a civic,
                             (Cadd9) G
Camped out all night on the sidewalk just to get tickets,
                                   (Cadd9) G
WIth their hands on the fence in the back by the buses and the limosines
                          (Cadd9) G
Just to get a glimpse of a drummer or a singer in a band,

(pre-cho)
          F C G
And they come from miles around,
          F C D
For the moment when the lights go out,
            C
And they scream,

(chorus)
             G/B C D
There's some girls in the front row singin',
         G/B C D
It's the boys with the wheels that bring them,
          G/B C D Em7
It's the lighters in the air, and you guys up there,
             C
You're the heart and the soul and the reason we do what we do,
             G
Here's to you,

(verse 2)
G (Cadd9) G
There's a silver tounge blonde tryin to sweet talk her way backstage,
                                  (Cadd9) G
There's a mom and a dad in the isle not actin their age,
                                   (Cadd9) G
There's a wet Corvete, red lipstick grin on Coors light cup,
                                       (Cadd9) G
And judgin by the way she's dancin, I'd say she's had enough,

(pre-cho)
      F C G
The guitars come alive,
         F C D
And you make us wanna stay all night,
            C
And they scream,

(chorus)
          G/B C D
It's some girls in the front row singin',
         G/B C D
It's the boys with the wheels that bring them,
          G/B C D Em7
It's the lighters in the air, and you guys up there,
             C
You're the heart and the soul and the reason we do what we do,
             G
Here's to you,

(lead - G - F - C - G - F - C - D - C)

(chorus)
          G/B C D
It's some girls in the front row singin',
         G/B C D
It's the boys with the wheels that bring them,
          G/B C D Em7
It's the lighters in the air, and you guys up there,
             C
You're the heart and the soul and the reason we do what we do,
             G
Here's to you,

"red lipstick print" and it really sounds like a C or in your case a B for the Chorus instead of the G-C-D. or try playing the "barred C" but start with your first finger on the B and then the next note slide up to C. just a thought, its just what it sounds like to me
