So I wrote this a little bit back, it's about a girl who just destroyed
my world. I did exaggerate the lyrics a little to make it like a country
song, but it's just how I felt one day when she said that I was just an
"at-school" friend when I had longed for her for 3 years. This is the end result.

Now That You’re Gone
written by Shane Grenert
Common time, slow rock feel, almost post grunge

Intro: | Am | G | Am | C | x2

Verse1
Am G
Still got your picture in my wallet
           Am C
Just can’t bring myself to get rid of it
Am G
I’ve kept your number in my phone
      Am C
Half tempted to call it up when I’m all alone

PreChorus
Am
I tell the guys I’m doin’ fine
F
But the truth is I’m not alright
Dm
Since you’ve left I’ve done some cryin’
C (single strum) (two quick strums x2)
Gone half outta my mind

Chorus
Am
Girl, ever since you walked away
G
Been tellin’ myself I’ll be okay
Am
But I know that it ain’t true
C
There ain’t no gettin’ over you
Am
The only thing I touch anymore
F
Is the bottle and my guitar
    Dm C
My life’s turned into a country song
(kill the strings)
Now that you’re gone

Instrumental: same as intro x1

Verse 2
Am G
You can see the pain written on my face
Am C
You can also tell that I haven’t shaved
Am
Been drownin’ in the Jack
F
Hopin’ that you’ll come back
Dm
Wanna burn some of your ol’ things
C
Hopin’ to erase this pain

Repeat chorus
