Capo 2
G G/F#
I've been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
Em C
Drunk and I'm dirty, but don't you know
G C G
That I'm still...willin'
G G/F#
Out on the road, late last night
Em C
Saw my pretty Alice in every headlight
G C G
Alice,....Dallas Alice
Chorus:
C D
I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari
D G
Tehachapi to Tonapah
G C
I've driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
C D
I've driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed
C D G
If you give me weed, whites, and wine
D
Can you show me a sign
D Em C G
And I'll be willin'..to be movin'
Mandolin Break
I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
I had my head stoved in, but I'm still on my feet
And I'm still willin'
And I smuggled some smokes for folks in Mexico
Baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico
Chorus
Banjo break
Fiddle Break
Chorus

i dont think this is right... the chord progression should be G, (variation of D), Em, Cadd9, G. then a sweet little slide down the neck in the Cadd9 formation then back to G.... if you want to know more... let me know. Phil Pritchett plays this in concert alot and its awesome and thats how he plays it... also it was first done by Little Feat. I can tell you more if you want more about it.
-Texas97 | 8/24/2004 | you are right - i used to know that little slide down the neck and now for the life of it i can't put it back together. any help you could give.... and Steve does play essentially the same run that George wrote and played for Little Feat -mitchhell | 1/17/2005 | In response, that's practically what I am playing only in the simple version - You say the progression should be:
G, a Variation of D, Em, Cadd9, G
whereas I am playing:
G, G/F# (which can be changed to D/F#), Em, C, G.
I chose the G/F# as it is the transition chord between G and Em and I also try to make it easy on the new guitar player.
-lmofle | 1/17/2005 | The G/F# should actually be a D/F# -diverden | 7/23/2014 |
