Capo 3

D, Em7, G, D, D, Em7, Riff 1, D

       Em7 G D Em7
Here I walk, an empty shell even though
     G D Em7
It's hard to tell this lonesome hand
     G D Riff 2---------------------------|
It's taken its toll and I just don't know how far it can go
D Em7
Well come down and watch your first step
G D
Don't do anything you might regret
D Em7 G D
Cause you're must to innocent to suffer
D Em7
It wasn't all sunny days
G D
Picking through your memories
       D Em7 G D
Oh the rain came down and you covered me in velvet
       Cadd9 G D (Hold)
Oh you covered me in velvet
          Em7 G D
There you are it's like a song I heard
           Em7 G D
In a smoky bar where the whiskey stirs
             Em7 G D
Just like my heart and it's dancing alone
       Riff 2--------------------------|
And it seems just like it won't ever end
D Em7
Well come down and watch your first step
G D
Don't do anything you might regret
D Em7 G D
Cause you're must to innocent to suffer
D Em7
It wasn't all sunny days
G D
Picking through your memories
       D Em7 G D
Oh the rain came down and you covered me in velvet
       Cadd9 G D
Oh you covered me in velvet

Another turn another cautious step

Will we ever learn just how lonesome can get
              Em7 G D
You caught me running, running away

Really awesome job of a great great song. The one thing i notice is that it sounds better the second and fourth times through the progression each verse if you split that G into a Cadd9 and a G. Like Em7,G,D...Em7,C9add/G,D. You can really hear it when you sing "Whi-KEY stirred" with Cadd/9,G. And then i cheated and watched him play it on youtube and i think thats what it is. Still awesome either way.

Oh, and same thing on the chorus. 2nd and 4th times thru...just like you did on the last like of the chorus.

Great tab, sounded better with the Capo on the 4th fret rather than the 3rd. (;

I agree on both. Cadd9 adds a nice touch and i thing the capo on the 4th fret sounds more like the album version.
