There is a Time
By R. Dillard & M. Jayne
Tabbed by - Craig
I play open
Capo on 2 sounds great
Capo on 5 to sound like Nitty Gritty Dirt Band version with Rodney

(Verse 1)

Am
There is a time for love and laughter
              C Am
The days will pass like summer storms
           C Am
The winter wind will follow after
             Dm Em Am
But there is love and love is warm

(Chorus)

Am
There is a time for us to wander
             C Am
When time is young and so are we
              C Am
The woods are greener over yonder
            Dm Em Am
The path is new the world is free

(Verse 2)

Am
There is a time when leaves are fallin'
              C Am
The woods are gray the paths are old
              C Am
The snow will come when geese are callin'
           Dm Em Am
You need a f--i--re against the cold

(Chorus)

Am
There is a time for us to wander
             C Am
When time is young and so are we
              C Am
The woods are greener over yonder
            Dm Em Am
The path is new the world is free

(Verse 3)

Am
So do your roaming in the springtime
                     C Am
And you'll find your love in the summer sun
               C Am
The frost will come and bring the harvest
            Dm Em Am
And you can s--l--e--ep when day is done

Verse 4

Am
Time is like a river flowing
        C Am
With no regrets as it moves on
           C Am
Around each bend the shining morning
           Dm Em Am
And all the friends we thought were gone

(Chorus)

Am
There is a time for us to wander
             C Am
When time is young and so are we
              C Am
The woods are greener over yonder
            Dm Em Am
The path is new the world is free

You can capo to 2nd fret and sounds great also

You can leave out the G on 3rd lines and replace with C and sounds good. I like the G, but sounds fine both ways.

I think the G chord should be a C , works for me. Try it and try the pattern here.

It also sounds pretty nice if you add in a C in the middle of the first line of each verse, like so:

Am C Am
There is a time for us to wander

-chaimedes | 9/1/2013
Corrected the G with C.
