Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not
By: Thompson Square

Capo 1

Intro: G G2 G G(bar chord)

Verse 1:
        G
We were sittin' up there on your momma's roof,

talkin' 'bout everything under the moon
         C
With the smell of honeysuckle and your perfume,

All I could think about was my next move
        D
Oh, but you were so shy, so was I,
 	  	  	  	      C
Maybe that's why it was so hard to believe
                            D (2 beats)
When you smiled and said to me

Chorus:
                          C G D
"Are you gonna kiss me or not?
G C G D
Are we gonna do this or what?
G C D
I think you know I like you a lot but you're 'bout to miss your shot
                         G (repeat intro)
Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

Verse 2:
It was the best dang kiss that I ever had,
except for that long one after that
And I knew if I wanted this thing to last,
sooner or later I'd have to ask
For your hand so I took a chance,
bought a wedding band and I got down on one knee
And you smiled and said to me

Repeat Chorus:

Bridge:
       C
So, we planned it all out for the middle of June
                                    C/b
From the wedding cake to the honeymoon
         G (riff 1)
And your momma cried when you walked down the aisle
         C
When the preacher man said, "Say I do", I did and you did too,
   C/b Am7
Then I lifted that veil
             D
And saw your pretty smile and I said

Repeat Chorus:
Repeat intro to end:

Here are the tabs for the guitar lick in the bridge, and also what the guitars are playing in the
chorus for those of you who like to challenge yourself a bit. There are obviously multiple guitars
and other instruments layered in there that are playing the notes on a higher register, but if
you're playing it acoustic this sounds pretty good, and also it gives you the notes to
play if you have a full band and want to layer those in somehow...

This is a really good easy song and a very easy song to make sound really nice acoustic or with a
full band. Lots of fun!
Hope you enjoy!
