Em** x120xx
Em*** x020xx
C5 x355xx
G 320033
Cadd9 x32033
intro C D Cadd9 D x2
              G Cadd9
He said I was in my early forties with a lot of life before me
     Em D Cadd9
and a moment came that stopped me on a dime
        G Cadd9
I spent most of the next days looking at the x-rays
Em D Cadd9
talking ‘bout the options and talkin’ ‘bout sweet time
Em* Em**
I asked him when it sank in if this might really be the real end
Em*** C5
How’s it hit ‘cha when you get that kind of news, man what’cha do

       G
I went skydiving
       Cadd9
I went rocky mountain climbing
       Em D Cadd9
I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
       G B7 Em D Cadd9
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness id been denying
                                            D G Cadd9 G Cadd9
and he said some day I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying

              G Cadd9
He said I was finally the husband that most the time I wasn’t
       Em D Cadd9
And I became a friend a friend would like to have
    G Cadd9
And all of a sudden going fishin’ wasn’t such an imposition
      Em D Cadd9
And I went three times that year I lost my dad
       Em* Em**
Well I finally read the Good Book and I took a good long hard look
           Em*** C5
at what id do if I could do it all again and then

       G
I went skydiving
       Cadd9
I went rocky mountain climbing
       Em D Cadd9
I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
      G B7 Em D Cadd9
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness id been denying
                                            D Em*
and he said some day I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying
     Em** Em*** C5
Like tomorrow was a gift and you got eternity to think about what you’d do with it
               C
What could you do with it
             Cm
What could I do with it
             C
What would I do with it.

The Em** is a B+ I believe.
-mystikal1116 | 6/3/2004
I like this version. It's easier to
read.
-WildCard76 | 6/3/2004
thanks that was what I was shooting for:)
-cntrypicker | 6/4/2004
the other version is really good. I went with what most players will
get but still sounds great. This song is going #1 on the radio in the
near future!! what a perfect song:)I tabbed this as close as I could
to what I have heard.

-cntrypicker | 6/8/2004
Good job, but in the last verse Fm should be F#m and C7 should be
C#7. What a great song. Hope you all got to see him perform it on the
ACM's. Unbelievable. Will be the song of the year this year.

-Jim72344 | 6/10/2004
thanks jim, the corrections have been made you are absolutly right, Jason
-cntrypicker | 6/10/2004
ok I hope all the chords are sounding on now. :)
-cntrypicker | 6/14/2004
I couldn't tell you off the top of my head, but I'd suggest printing
off a chord chart. It takes five minutes and the good ones are fairly
comprehensive

-hookd15 | 6/21/2004
C#7 = 4446464 or look at it as an A7 barred at the 4th fret.
-jstorey | 6/24/2004
Blu Man Chu, not Fu...Nice tab though
-dirtbike815 | 6/26/2004
Nah, it's Fu man Chu, like the beard, Blu man chu isnt even a word, great song and tab:)
-bartdogg | 6/29/2004
I am not sure. But after the modulation in the third chorus. The D after the A seems to
be missing something to it. I think its a D2 but correct me if I'm wrong. Very Good Tab

-blakecannon | 6/29/2004
Actually I think it is Blue man chu. I know
the word is fu man chu, but I think the
bull's name is blue. Thats just what I
thought initially after hearing it...could be
wrong though.
-rtownleyutk | 6/29/2004
lol... I will listen for myself again and see What I hear.. thanks all for the comments:) Jason
-cntrypicker | 6/30/2004
ok I got it, Blue in the first chorus, Fu in
the second. The world's most pointless argument is solved!

-rtownleyutk | 7/1/2004
FYI
i listened to the song and the intro sounds like it goes:

C D Cadd9 D x2 and then goes into the G at the start of the song
-Derrick_koehler | 7/12/2004
lol man, this is not a good song to make
your first, i have been playin for about
9 years and this song is givin me trouble
but your f#m is a bar f# which is (starting
on E string) 244322 but take your finger off
the 3 and make it a 2 and that makes the f# a minor. Your b7 you better learn quick if
you wanna play country. B7 is x21202. Good
luck on this song, and my god be with you
young jedi :) -chris
-rivercounty | 7/27/2004
Thanks for tabbing this song. I can't get enough of it.
-reddogrice | 7/27/2004
thank you for the nice comments .. Jason:)
-cntrypicker | 7/27/2004
i'm not sure about this and your tab is great but i was thinking it sounds better if you switch your chords up a bit.
Em** instead of being x120xx it should be x210xx and then for Em*** instead of x020xx it should be x200xx. I think it sounds better. Comment and tell me if i'm wrong or not.
-weiskat19 | 8/11/2004
just to throw my two cents in...it's bull named fu man chu...but it's not a beard...it's a mustache
-kabo | 8/13/2004
Great job on this tab. I've been playing for years and have never really been able to figure out a song on my own. You all are phenomenal, especially with the changes.

My wife is a HUGE Tim McGraw fan and its going to be great learning this thanks to you guys and the MIDI file from midi-hits.com.

She does have the new CD and the lyrics inside say the bull's name is Fumanchu... even though it does sound like he is saying BLUEmanchu...

Fantastic job, everyone.
-BlueCrystalMan | 8/28/2004
Hey, This is so great. I'm at work right now in Northern Ontario, but I'll be home in 3 days. After I kiss my wife and kids I'm picking up my 6 and playing this tune.
My wife and I love this tune. Thanks.
-rwc142 | 8/30/2004
To throw my 2 cents in, it's definitely Fumanchu...one word. I've got the CD and that's what it says in the lyrics...for both choruses...:)
-_DRIVEN_ | 9/2/2004
The perfect tab is both tabs combined. The Em* etc... should be played like the other tab and the D in the final chorus may be all
Dadd9. Makes sense since before it goes up a chord the C is Cadd9. Just my two cents. Check it out.
-Jim72344 | 9/15/2004
I don't understand the E switch thing there ... The Em* and Em** and Em*** Why can't they be just simple chords? I've played them and they don't sound right, any suggestions?
-ordinaryguy | 9/29/2004
i cant seem to get the strumming pattern on this song.....any advice?
-lynsey | 10/3/2004
The B7 (x21202) just doesn't sound right to me. Tell me if thats right or if its wrong. Maybe it just sounds different to me then how it really is. Thanks! God Bless.
