Thank-You Larry! I appreciate all the work you put into the song submissions. Now...if I only had a guitar here at work! :) -Kevin | 12/7/2011 | Thanks a ton Larry. You're the best! -WillyJoe | 12/9/2011 | Y'all are welcome!
-lmofle | 12/9/2011 | In the last chorus after the key change, what would you place in place of Em??? -JasonMac78 | 12/17/2011 | Without picking up my guitar and listening to it, it should be F#m. Here's how you transpose chords to different keys:
I first write down all the notes in the key the song is in - in this case it is in C. So I simply write down on a piece of paper this:
C-D-E-F-G-A-B and below it, write the notes for the key you want to change it to (in our case, D) D-E-F-G-A-B-C
With the 2 keys written out, just take the original chords and look below to see what lines up with the new key you want to go to.
C becomes D, F becomes G, G become A, Am becomes Bm...(I hope this makes sense at this point to you).
Now, to answer your question, where is the E(m)? The 3rd position, right - so what is the 3rd position of the key of D> F(m). From experience, I doubt it is actually Fm and is more likely to be F#m. Try that and see if it works... -lmofle | 12/17/2011 | You, sir, are awesome. Thank you for answering my question and the quick lesson....it made a lot of sense. Thanks so much! -JasonMac78 | 12/19/2011 |
