A nice and easily discernable tab. If anyone has an MP3 of it,
could you please email it to me? I heard Toby do it in concert
and used the tab to pull my version together. For a while it
was posted on a country site, but is gone now.
Thanks to the Tabber for his humor in doing this somewhat
off-the-wall "Bus Song" by Toby. - Eric

Yes but you won't get the same exact sound like with this...
-lmofle | 10/26/2003
You are right! You have to play this with the bar chords,
or it loses alot in translation. This tab is perfect!

I think you have to capo one to match the Shock'n Ya'll version.
(unless the mp3 I have isn't the official one off the album) Great job!
-Shantel | 11/10/2003
Ah, hah!! Had not thought of that...when
I got this mp3, it is off the Bob & Tom show
that he performed on Live...
-lmofle | 11/10/2003
This one's a perfect 10...
-JoeWallace | 11/11/2003
great tab, thank you. Just finger pick it to get the mellow feel.
play the bass notes with your thumb and gently pluck the rest of the
chord.

-tbob | 11/23/2003
I think the capo people are right - It does take on a differnt tone
with the nylon string as well... but good ear !!

Ok, I've been wondering about this for a while since I can't find
these fingerings for the A6, C6, etc anywhere other than this
site...How do you bar one fret, but play one string a fret back? Am I
reading the fingering wrong? Or is this an "In time grasshopper, in
time..." kinda thing? Thanks in advance for any advice on how to
learn this.

-debeck | 12/2/2003
Debeck - I PM'd you but here is the info:

I know it looks sort of scary but notice the fingerings:

fingers - 213333
A6 = - 545555

I put the actual fingers you use above where I placed the tab
fingering. See if this helps...basically you are making a G chord
(using your pointer and index to put on the 5th and 6th strings and
use the ring finger to barre the rest. The bottom E does not have to
ring clearly (it can be muted)...the G6 is the exact shape as the A6
only 2 frets down. The C9 is just lowering everything down a string.

Does this make sense?
-lmofle | 12/2/2003
Not tryin' to be mean but, unless play you play the chords I put on
the tab, it won't sound as exact as what everyone else says..

You guys do know that there are Two guitars in this song right?
Scott is playing on the first fret and Toby is playing on the 4th
fret so everyone is really right. You can only hear Scott's guitar
more because he picks alot harder than Toby does. Hope this helps
everyone.

I don't know if I just simplify to much for my own good or not but I
have been playing this song D F#m Bm A7 and in the chorus using G
A F#m Bm G A D D7 G A F#m Bm G A and back to D I understand it
ain't just like Toby but I don't like him anyhow. I just play it
how I can sing it great job on your tab though its dead on

-geetarnsc | 4/27/2004
I always played it:

F Am7 Gm C

Sounds pretty good to me...but what do I know?
-mjsanford | 7/17/2004
you can also play A6 like this, it doesnt sound exactly like it does on the recording, but its still proper, and much easier.
e 2
B 2
G 2
D 2
A 4
E 5
