This song is included on the new Willie Nelson CD "Stars and Guitars" as a
duet with Keith Richards - a little from the country side of the Stones.
It's been covered by Steve Earle and Alan Jackson.
 I don't think I've ever been in a country band that didn't do a rocked-up
version of "Dead Flowers." The leads work out of the G and D triads, and
use a few reverse bends.
I'll Post Them as well to get you started.

Dead Flowers Rolling Stones

Intro: D A G D X3

Verse 1.
D A G D
When you are sitting there, in your silk upholstered chair
D A G
Talking to some rich folk that you know
D A G D
Well I hope you won't see me in my ragged company
D A G D - A
Cause you know I could never be alone

Chorus
        A D
Take me down little Susie, take me down
A D
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
           G D
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
G D
Send me dead flowers by the mail
G D
Send me dead flowers at my wedding
D A G D
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Verse 2.
When you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac
Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day
Well I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon
And another heart to take my pain away

Outro
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the U. S. mail,
Say it with dead flowers at my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave.

Thanks and let me know what 'y'all think - Eric.

The version from The Big Lebowski is by Townes Van Zandt. His version is tabbed out on this site as well.
