Verse: A D A
There's a family bible on the table
F#m F# E
It's pages worn and hard to read
A D A
But the family bible on the table
D E A
Will ever be my key to memories
Verse: D A
At the end of day when work was over
F#m F# E
And when the evening meal was done
A D A
Dad would read to us from the family bible
D E A
And we'd count our many blessings one by one
Chorus: D G D
I can see us sittin' round the table
A
As from the family bible Dad would read
D A
And I can hear my momma softly singin'
D A E A
Rock of ages Rock of Ages there for me
Verse: A D A
Now this old world of ours is filled with trouble
F#m F# E
But this old world would oh so better be
A D A
If we had more bibles round the tables
D A E A
Mother singin' Rock of ages there for me
Chorus
Outro: D A E A
Rock of ages Rock of ages there for me

Try playing a B7 after the F#m; I think you'll like it much better. Thanks for the tab! -ravelov | 8/20/2004 | In the second line of the Chorus try a G over the word Bible. I'm going off a live recording of Willie and Johnny Cash singing it from VH1 Storytellers. But it sounds like there is a change there. I also agree with the B7 as opposed to the F#. The F# after the F#m doesn't work. -gdbrown | 7/21/2011 |
