"My Life's Been a Country Song"
My Life's Been a Country Song, 2008
Songwriters: John Wiggins, Clay Mills
Tabbed by Dan Pera

I had a little trouble with the bridge, so if you have
a better idea, please let me know.

Capo 4

      D A Bm G
Now I know how Merle Haggard felt
        D A Bm G
when he sang the words mama tried
         D A Bm G
And I've lived those teenage Friday nights
       D A Bm G
With a pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight
        D A Bm G
And that summer Becky broke my heart
   D A Bm G
Alabama sang old flame burnin'

Well I've danced with George Strait
A
Drank with George Jones
   G A D
My life's been a country song

Chorus:
               Bm G
It's all about fallin' down and gettin' back up
D A
Your good times and hard luck
Bm G
True love and amazing grace
D A
Workin' all week for a back ache
Bm G
  Raisin' cane, Friday nights,
D A
Sunday church to set it right
         G A Bm
They can write it on my stone,
   G A D
My life's been a country song

      D A Bm
Now I know how Paycheck felt
        G D A Bm G
When he told his boss he can take his job and shove it
         D A Bm G
And I've had the girl that made me say
   D A Bm G
'I like it, I love it, I want some more of it'
        D A Bm G D
And I'll always remember just where I was
         A Bm G
When the world stopped turnin'

Through the good and the bad,
    A
The right and the wrong
   G A D
My life's been a country song

               Bm G
It's all about fallin' down and gettin' back up
D A
Your good times and hard luck
Bm G
True love and amazing grace
D A
Workin' all week for a back ache
Bm G
  Raisin' cane, Friday nights,
D A
Sunday church to set it right
         G A Bm
They can write it on my stone,
   G A D
My life's been a country song

Bridge:
A G D/F# A
It's been the words when I couldn't find 'em
A G D/F# A
A friend when I've been alone
 A G D/F# A E
It's been the toast to things remembered, the strength for movin on

               Bm G
It's all about fallin' down and gettin' back up
D A
Your good times and hard luck
Bm G
True love and amazing grace
D A
Workin' all week for a back ache
Bm G
  Raisin' cane, Friday nights,
D A
Sunday church to set it right
         G A Bm
They can write it on my stone,
   G A D
My life's been a country song

Bm G D A

      G A D
Oh my life's been a country song

I can't wait to try this song. I like Chris Cagle. My only problem is he plays some chords that I just don't like to play. I hate the D/F# even though it is probably right. I'll try this out and let you know what I think.

Sounds good, but when I sing it sounds better with the capo on the 2nd fret. Good job.
