Darius Rucker
"Don't Think I Don't Think About It"
Album TBA, 2008
Songwriters: Darius Rucker, Clay Mills
Tabbed by Dan Pera

Please rate fairly. Thanks.

It seems like every time I listened to this song, I heard
something different. Basically play what sounds better to
you in terms of the Cadd9's and C's as well as an Em7 or
regular Em.

Great song though...

Capo II

D G/B Cadd9
I left out in a cloud
G
Of taillights and dust
D G/B Cadd9
Swore I wasn't comin' back
G
Said I've had enough

D G/B Cadd9
Saw you in the rearview standin'
G
Fadin' from my life
      Em7
But I wasn't turnin' round
Cadd9
No not this time

(chorus)
                    G
Don't think I don't think about it
                    Em
Don't think I don't have regrets
                D/F#
Don't think it don't get to me
            Cadd9 D/F#
Between the work and the hurt and the whiskey

                    G
Don't think I don't wonder bout
                          Em
Coulda been, shoulda been all worked out
              Am G/B Cadd9
I know what I felt, and I know what I said
                        G
But don't think I don't think about it

D G/B Cadd9
When we make choices
         G
We gotta live with them
D G/B Cadd9
Heard you found a real good man
G
And you married him

D G/B Cadd9
I wonder if sometimes
G
I cross your mind
Em7
Where would we be today
Cadd9
If I never drove that car away

                    G
Don't think I don't think about it
                    Em
Don't think I don't have regrets
                D/F#
Don't think it don't get to me
            Cadd9 D/F#
Between the work and the hurt and the whiskey

                    G
Don't think I don't wonder bout
                          Em
Coulda been, shoulda been all worked out
              Am G/B Cadd9
I know what I felt, and I know what I said
                        A C
But don't think I don't think about it
                    A C
Don't think I don't think about it

                    G
Don't think I don't think about it
                    Em
Don't think I don't have regrets
                D/F#
Don't think it don't get to me
            Cadd9 D/F#
Between the work and the hurt and the whiskey

                    G
Don't think I don't wonder bout
                          Em
Coulda been, shoulda been all worked out
              Am G/B Cadd9
I know what I felt, and I know what I said
                        D G/B Cadd9 G
But don't think I don't think about it

Don't think I don't
D G/B Cadd9 G
Don't think I don't

I can't help but thinking there is an "Am" in there

You're right. Thank you. It's not a C in that 2nd to the last line of the chorus over "felt". It's an Am. I appreciate the help.

its Am to A instead of Em
-st08x | 8/16/2008
Hey Beaner, I think the A and the Em7 sound good... I guess it's another preference.

I don't quite understand what the Em/A/Am comment is though. Can you clarify?
-dantheman85x | 8/27/2008
i think after the cadd9 in versus, you play a d/f# (right before chorus) good tab though!!
-ehoffm1 | 9/24/2008
I agree the Em7 should be an A. Other than that nice work!
