Pretty cool song from Jason's Aldean My Kinda Party album. He kinda
ripped this song off of Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford (like he tends to do)
But I can't hate on him because he is just a much better singers than those guys.
His version is better, and if they can't make a song good enough to be
popular, he might as well try.

I play the Chorus with Am and G just getting one strum, and the C is….
Hell just make it your own! That's what awesome about music!
I do palm mute the verse's tho. Im pretty sure my little lick there
isn't perfect but it gets me by. If you leave correction in the comments
and its better than mine I'll change it!

Capo 2

Intro: (Am) (G) (C) x4 (lick after 4th)
         -------------------------
         -------------------------
Lick ---0-h2-0--------------
         -------------3---2---0-
         -------------------------
         -------------------------

Yeah I'm (Am) chilling on the (G) dirt (C) roads,
Laid back (Am) swervin like I'm (G) George (C) Jones,
Smoke (Am) rollin out the (G) win(C)dow,
An ice cold beer (Am) sittin in the (G) con(C)sole
Memory (Am) lane up in the (G) headl(C)ights
it's got me remi(Am)niscing on the (G) good (C) times
I'm (Am) turning off the (G) real life, (C) driving that's right
I'm hittin (Am) easy street on (G) mud (C) tires (lick)

Back in the (Am) day Pop's farm (G) was the place to (C) go
Load the truck up hit the dirt road,
(Am) Jump the barbwire (G) spread the word (C)
Light the bon fire then call the girls
The (Am) king in the can (G) and the Marlboro (C) man
Jack and Jim were a few good men
When we (Am) learned how to kiss and (G) cuss and fight (C) too
Better watch out for the boys in blue
And (Am) all this small (G)town he said (C) she said
Ain't it funny how rumors spread
Like (Am) I know something (G) ya'll don't (C) know
Man that talk is getting old
You better (Am) mind your business man (G) watch your mouth (C)
Before I have to knock that loud mouth out
I'm (Am) tired of talking man (G) ya'll aint listenin (C)
Them old dirt roads is (lick) what ya'll missin

I sit (Am) back and think about them (G) good ole days (C)
The way we were raised and our southern ways
We (Am) like cornbread and (G) biscuits (C)
If it's broke round here we fix it
(Am) I can take ya'll (G) where you need to go (C)
Down to my hood and back in them woods
(Am) We do it different (G) round here that's (C) right
And we sho do it good and we do it all night
(Am) So if you really wanna (G) know how it feels (C)
To get off the road and truck some four wheels
(Am) Jump on in and (G) man tell yo friends (C)
And we'll be raising hell where the (lick) black to ends

Yeah I'm (Am) chilling on the (G) dirt (C) roads,
Laid back (Am) swervin like I'm (G) George (C) Jones,
Smoke (Am) rollin out the (G) win(C)dow,
An ice cold beer (Am) sittin in the (G) con(C)sole
Memory (Am) lane up in the (G) headl(C)ights
it's got me remi(Am)niscing on the (G) good (C) times
I'm (Am) turning off the (G) real life, (C) driving that's right
I'm hittin (Am) easy street on (G) mud (C) tires

Let's Ride (Am) (G) (C) x4 (lick after 4th)

Yeah I'm (Am) chilling on the (G) dirt (C) roads,
Laid back (Am) swervin like I'm (G) George (C) Jones,
Smoke (Am) rollin out the (G) win(C)dow,
An ice cold beer (Am) sittin in the (G) con(C)sole
Memory (Am) lane up in the (G) headl(C)ights
it's got me remi(Am)niscing on the (G) good (C) times
I'm (Am) turning off the (G) real life, (C) driving that's right
I'm hittin (Am) easy street on (G) mud (C) tires

i'm too white to play it and sing it so i wait til everybody's drunk and laugh at em trying to remember the words and keep tempo!

The rap is cheesy, but I give Jason Aldean credit for pushing the limit. He always does.

Aldean buys the right to the music of Brantley Gilbert
-sethsto | 5/12/2011
This tab is incorrect. its a very simple riff. B-G-D Thats the whole song. Brantley plays the B chord with a hammer on. Enjoy

Ok....let's quit arguing about who does the song better & get the chords right! Haha We all know, Jason Aldean could sing a Barney song right now & still top the charts with it... I've tried all the chord progressions listed here & still find somethin missing. It sounds to me like it goes back to the 2nd chord at the end of every progression (example: bar chord B---slide to bar chord D---to a standard G---then to a standard D)... thoughts??? P.S. I'm a guitar rookie, so be nice! :) I just hear a 4th change at the end & wanna figure this out... I keep seeing people put 3 chords repeating... Am I even close???

I just listened to BG's version and played it with no capo B (hammer on) A, then B (hammer on) G..... All bar chords, don't know how anyone is only hearing 3 chords played over and over....with a capo on 2 it is Am to G then Am to C........which is the same thing but pointless to use a capo for no reason imo just rock it out like BG
-nbforrestk | 6/24/2011
What's the strumming?
-sparksfly13x | 6/28/2011
The pattern switches from (Am) (G) (C) to (Am) (F) (C) like the following and repeats throughout the song... (That's how I hear it anyway)

Yeah, I'm (Am) chillin' on a (G) dirt (C) road,
Laid back (Am) swervin' like I'm (F) George (C) Jones.

-gsg_60 | 7/5/2011
Okay thanks. But what the strumming as in something like "down down up down up"??
-sparksfly13x | 7/7/2011
to me progression sounds like.... A D BM D no capo
-berrybudburgess | 10/27/2011
if you want to know how it is played go to youtube and type in brantley guilbert home and he will play it for you just watch really close and it is B-G-D and the lil riff after the D goes like this

no capo on eather part

B/----0h2p0---
G/------------4p2p

-airborne1ranger | 12/11/2011
i dont really care what the chords are in the chorus or the verses, as long as the riffs are right when he's not singing. if u can sing and play those parts, you'll be alright
