Flyin' Down a Back Road

by Justin Moore

These lyrics are from his original version of the song

D
Well I've been on the Grand Ole Opry
A
Played a show with ZZ top
Em G
Went on tour with Skinnered, man them boys still rock
D A
Shot the bull with Bocephus, before he climbed up on his jet
Em G
Played South Florida for Alan Jackson, that's something's that you never forget
Bm A G
But all that stuff that make you feel real good
A
But not near as good

D
As flying down a back road
                  A
With some buddies from back home
             Em
Splash of Jack in my Coke
                G
Catching brim on a Zebco
               D
Spotting deer in a hay field
              A
After church or Sunday meal
              Em D G
Hugging my mama before I go
D
Flying down a back road

D
Well up there in Deimoine
A
Remembered those songs line by line
Em
I just stood there in the fake smoke
G
Another dream came true that night
D A
I've been so many place my mom and daddy ain't never seen
Em G
All the way to California to as far as you can get away
Bm A G
But all that stuff that make you feel real good
A
But not near as good

D
As flying down a back road
                 A
With some buddies from back home
                    Em
Splash of Jim Beam in my Coke
                G
Catching brim on a Zebco
             D
Spotting deer in a hay field
              A
After church or Sunday meal
Em D G
Hugging my mama before I go
D
Flying down a back road

G walk to Em
I'm a lucky man I got a real good life
G walk to Em
But of all the things I've done nothing gets me as high

D
As flying down a back road
                     A
With some buddies from back home
              Em
Splash of Jack in my Coke
                  G
Catching brim on a Zebco
             D
Kill a deer in a hay field
              A
After church or Sunday meal
             Em D G
Hugging my mama before I go
D

on the album justin plays it down a half step or you can capo it on the first fret
-southernpride94 | 6/25/2011
Dude this song is to good to botch the lyrics like that
-GibbyGuitar8 | 6/26/2011
Dummys, Lyrics not botched, this is the original version of the song, the way Justin wrote and preformed it live till he cut it on cd, and still plays it live on occasion. you can find a youtube vid of him and these lyrics if u look hard enough. Well done !

They should really give us the option to edit this. Where is Deimoine? Cause it's not Des Moines, There's no such thing as a brim, it's "bream". who is skinnerd? do you mean Skynyrd? Please fix it.

The actual lyrics that most people hear on the radio do actually say: "Up there in Des Moines." So he is "technically" correct on it, just mis-spelled.
