Capo 4

D G D
Love and honor, a promise to obey
E7 A
Sacred vows that we both made yesterday
         D G D G D
But when someone tempted you, you eased across the line
    G D A D
And I'll bet love and honor never crossed your mind

You're the woman that once gave me her hand
And I'm the fool who's tryin' hard to understand
Why when someone tempted you you were so inclined
And I'll bet love and honor never crossed your mind

Chorus:

G D G D
Love and honor never crossed your mind
    D G D A E A
And love and honor is something hard to find
     D G D G D
When someone tempted you, you eased across the line
    G D A D
And I'll bet love and honor never crossed your mind

Chorus

In my group of country music club there is a lot of confusion around beats and rhythms e.g. 2/4 4/4 rock ballads. what are 8 beats etc. I am an ear singer and often get told I have the wrong rhythm written down ?????

I don';t put that information because each person can take a song and make it their own. If you put the record on and play along, the chords gives you the framework that you can then do it however you want.
