Tracy Lawrence ?Paint Me A Birmingham

Capo 1

F Dm Bb F

       F Bb
He was sittin?there, his brush in hand
C F
Paintin?waves as they danced, upon the sand
                      Bb
With every stroke, he brought to life
    C F
The deep blue of the ocean, against the mornin?sky
  Bb C
I asked him if he only painted ocean scenes
   Bb C
He said for twenty dollars, I’ll paint you anything.

Chorus:
                            F
Could you Paint Me A Birmingham
                      Dm
Make it look just the way I planned
                      Bb
A little house on the edge of town
                    C
Porch goin?all the way around
                    F
Put her there in the front yard swing
                     Dm
Cotton dress make it, early spring
                    Bb C
For awhile she’ll be, mine again
                             F
If you can Paint Me A Birmingham.

Dm Bb F

   F Bb
He looked at me, with knowing eyes
     C F
Then took a canvas from a bag there by his side
                       Bb
Picked up a brush, and said to me
    C F
Son just in this picture would you like to me
Bb C
I said if there’s any way you can
          Bb C
Could you paint me back into her arms again.

Chorus:

Chorus2:
                  G
Paint Me A Birmingham
                      Em
Make it look just the way I planned
                      C
A little house on the edge of town
                    D
Porch goin?all the way around
                    G
Put he there in the front yard swing
                     Em
Cotton dress make it, early spring
                    C D
For awhile she’ll be, mine again
                             G Em
If you can Paint Me A Birmingham
                     C G

GRAET job on the tabs. They're RIGHT ON. I love this song.

Personally i like Ken Melons version MUCH better, but his will never
hit the charts because Tracy has a larger record company deal. Ken
released his version 1st, a few weeks later Tracy put his out.
I know Tracy was supposed to do it 1st but he turned it down so Ken
took it. Then Tracy renigged and decided to do it too. its kinda
sad if you ask me.Both guys put on a great show, i seen Ken at
Whiskey River in Janesville a few years ago. Too bad hes not too
popular (anymore).

Great tab!!! The best of the 3 that
have been submitted. And a whole lot
better than Ken Mellon's version
( I like Ken's music, though ).

Hey, I've been playing for 20 years (god that sounds like a long time now!) and I still play the same old songs. I just try to add to my songlist, like one new song every month. You will never perfect a song if you don't keep playing it, and adding new stuff as you learn. I just figured out a nice little lick to add to Margaritaville, and I've been playing that song forever!

Chris.
